The contribution analyzes the protability of investment in a university education from the point of view of the university student. The topic of the research is the impact of tuition fees on the private rate of return to educational investments in the tertiary sector. It denes the cost of studies, various forms of financing of the studies, profits and the calculation of the private return of investment for the university student before and after introduction of university fees.

V příspěvku je analyzována výhodnost investice do vysokoškolského vzdělání z pohledu studenta vysoké školy. Výzkum se zaměřuje na dopad školného na ukazatel soukromé míry návratnosti investic vložených do terciárního vzdělávání. Jsou zde definovány náklady na studium, různé druhy financování studia, výnosy a kalkulace soukromé návratnosti investice studenta vysoké školy před a po zavedení školného.
