The changes in employment in Polish agriculture in years 1996-2006 have been presented in the article. An extremely large regional differentiation of the employment rate in agriculture as well as regional structure heterogeneity has been pointed at.

The article presents a characterization of changes in the social and economic situation in Poland in years 2000-2007 from selected aspects. Regional differentiation of Poland as well as factors affecting the regional diversification of Poland are pointed at. Regional nature of changes and necessity of supporting the poorest regions are indicated.

W artykule przedstawiono charakterystykę oraz zmiany wybranych elementów sytuacji społeczno-gospodarczej Polski w latach 2000-2007. Wskazano również na występowanie dużego zróżnicowania regionalnego tejże sytuacji, na poziomie województw, sygnalizując jednocześnie powody owego zróżnicowania. Wskazano też regionalną różnorodność zachodzących zmian w tym względzie oraz potrzebę wsparcia regionów najsłabszych.
