Inspiracją do napisania artykułu była próba odpowiedzi na pytania dotyczące podobieństw i różnic – w odniesieniu do zachodnich tendencji – profilu personalnego i kompetencyjnego współczesnych ukraińskich menedżerów. Ze względu na ograniczenia ilościowe oraz ponieważ w literaturze przedmiotu istnieje dość precyzyjna definicja współczesnego „zachodniego menedżera”, cechy „zachodniego menedżera” nie są cytowane w tym artykule. Artykuł poświęcony jest wyłącznie analizie i charakterystyce cech współczesnego ukraińskiego menedżera. Było to możliwe dzięki osobistym i bezpośrednim badaniom empirycznym. Badanie składa się z dwóch głównych części: podstaw przedsiębiorczości na Ukrainie i profilu ukraińskiego menedżera.

The inspiration for writing this paper has been an attempt to answer questions about similarities and differences - in relation to the western tendencies - of the personal and competence profile of contemporary Ukrainian managers. Due to volume limitations, and because in the subject literature there is a rather precise definition of the contemporary „western manager”, the characteristics of a “western manager” are not cited in this paper. The paper is devoted solely to the analysis and characterization of the characteristics of the contemporary Ukrainian manager. This was possible through personal and direct empirical research. The study consists of two main parts: the background for entrepreneurship in Ukraine and the profile of the Ukrainian manager.

Inspiracją do napisania niniejszego opracowania są równolegle prowadzone badania warunków internacjonalizacji działalności gospodarczej i jej modeli w Polsce i w Ukrainie. W artykule zawarto kluczowe zagadnienia z przeprowadzonych wywiadów oraz wnioski z analizy dokumentacji aktów prawnych związanych, w szerokim znaczeniu, z zakładaniem biznesu na Ukrainie. Przytoczono także nazwy dokumentów związanych z podstawowymi regulacjami w tym względzie. Z wykonanych badań wynika, iż nastąpiły poważne ułatwienia prawne dla zakładania działalności gospodarczej na Ukrainie. Jest to pierwszy krok w kierunku zbudowania korzystnej atmosfery. Istnieje wciąż jednak wiele uwarunkowań, które często zniechęcają polskich przedsiębiorców do ekspansji zagranicznej w kierunku Ukrainy i to nad nimi rządy obu krajów winny się pochylić.

The inspiration to create this summary was research carried out on the Polish–Ukrainian internationalization of business activity conditions and their models. The article contains conclusions based on the authors’ interviews with Ukrainian businessmen and government officials, as well as an analysis of legal acts related to establishing a business in Ukraine by members of the Polish business community. A reference to fundamental regulations is presented. The research shows that serious legal easements for starting a business in Ukraine have occurred. This is the first step towards building a positive atmosphere. However, there are many factors which often discourage Polish entrepreneurs to initiate foreign expansion towards Ukraine and, on this basis, beyond its borders. The governments of both countries should pay attention to them. In this context, the article contains initial provisions for improving the legislative base of Ukraine in the field of internationalization. For Polish entrepreneurs, the basic recommendations for establishing a business in Ukraine are justified.

W artykule zawarto wyniki dostępnych opracowań teoretycznych, metodologicznych i praktycznych do badania profilu współczesnego ukraińskiego menedżera i przedstawiono je w aspekcie przewidywania kierunków transformacji w kontekście postępującej internacjonalizacji. Omówiono wyniki prowadzonej przez autorów “polsko‑ukraińskiej analizy empirycznej”. Większość parametrów dotyczących cech współczesnego ukraińskiego menedżera nawiązuje do najpowszechniejszych modeli narodowych kultur biznesowych, określających kierunki dalszego rozwoju: naukowego, praktycznego i metodologicznego w zakresie analizowanego problemu.

The preliminary results of the development of the initial theoretical, methodological and applied methodological provisions for the study of the profile of a modern Ukrainian manager are presented in the context of predicting its transformation in the future in the context of deepening internationalization. The results of the Polish‑Ukrainian applied empirical analysis carried out by the authors are discussed. The content of the parameters of a modern Ukrainian manager is disclosed in the framework of the most common models of national business cultures, and directions for the further scientific, practical and methodological development of the problem are determined.

The article presents chosen issues of inflow of FDI to Poland. The essence and definition of international enterprise is explained as well as the FDI number in Poland in 2014. An increase trend of FDI in Poland is presented the basis of statistical data. An influence of FDI on Polish GDP in years 2000-2013 was analysed. The directions of FDI inflow in Poland in years 2008-2013 are compared. The focus was on benefits and risks related to the presence of foreign enterprises in Poland, allowing for achievement of the objective of this study.
