Problematyka stosunków polsko-niemieckich należy do bardzo aktualnych, ponieważ obecne pozostają ciągle kwestie historyczne pomiędzy oby - dwoma państwami, które bez wątpienia wywierają ogromny wpływ na wzajemne relacje. W artykule podejmuję kwestie odmiennego podejścia do stosunków polsko-niemieckich reprezentowanego przez kanclerz Angelę Merkel i przewodniczącą Związku Wypędzonych Erikę Steinbach. Znamienne jest to, że pomimo przynależności do tej samej partii politycznej (CDU) obie prezentują całkowicie odmienną postawę w stosunku do najbliższych sąsiadów, w tym również Polski.

The Polish-German relations have always been difficult due to their common history. However, over the past few years a noticeable improvement regarding their mutual relations can be easily observed. One can even risk the statement of our present Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski that Polish-German relations have never been better in our history. Undoubtedly, politicians along with the Chancellor Angela Merkel have an enormous input in building relations between those two countries. It seems that even the controversial activity of Erika Steinbach and a fear of German to change the interpretation of European history of the 20th century are not able to change this situation.
