This paper presents the picture of the post-apocalyptic man and world based on Komornik[Bailiff] by Michał Gołkowski and Starość aksolotla [The Old Axolotl] by Jacek Dukaj – the novelswritten by two of the most popular Polish science fiction and fantasy writers. It shows the causesof the apocalypse in these books and how the post-apocalyptic world is changing. It also describesand analyses the motives behind the protagonists’ approach, what they are missing and how theyaffect the post-apocalyptic world.

In this paper the author focuses mainly on the impact of new media on young people – members of subcultures and fan communities. The first part is about the general phenomenon of new media, what includes convergence culture and remix culture. Second part contains information about popculture and its creations – subcultures and fan communities. The author explains here why otaku are a subculture. Third part is about the impact of new media on otaku what is analyzed on Facebook example.

In this paper the idea of Loebner contest as a practical implementation of the Turing test is presented. The Brian Plüss’ measure of the degrees of non-cooperation in a dialogue is applied to the dialogues of the Loebner contest. The proposal of a typology of non-cooperative features in the contest’s dialogues is discussed and the reliability of annotation with the use of this typology of features is analysed. The degrees of non-cooperation of judges and programs for the Loebner contest (editions 2009 – 2012) are presented and discussed. On the basis of the results the role of a judge and the strategies used by programs are discussed for the contest and the Turing test.
