Phytosociological analyses were conducted on the transitional peatland at Czarne Lake. As a result of the study, a number of species of natural value were found, including, in particular, the occurrence of all species of Polish sundews and two species of swimmer. The vegetation of the peat bog can be assigned to two assemblages, the correctly developed Sphagnetum magellanici and Eriophorum vaginatumSphagnum fallax with a disturbed species arrangement. The occurrence of an overgrowth of Betula pendula and Pinus sylvestris, as well as juveniles of Calluna vulgaris and Ledum palustre, indicates that periodic lowering of water relations may be the cause of the disturbed assemblage.
