The end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century went down in the history of parenthood as a turning point in the perception of the role of the father in raising his son by psychologists. The aim of this article is to raise the issue of the father-son dyad, to present the evolution of the father-son dyad over the centuries, to show the role of communication between father and son in the process of raising a child.

W niniejszym artykule zostały omówione podstawowe emocje, ich definicje oraz kontekst historyczny i naukowy ich rozumienia. Powyższa część teoretyczna stanowi kompendium wiedzy niezbędne do przedstawienia wyników prowadzonych przez nas badań nad rozumieniem emocji trzyletnich synów przez ich ojców oraz o potrzebie intencjonalności ich rozumienia. Wyniki badań oraz ich opis zostaną przedstawione w kolejnej publikacji

This article discusses the basic emotions, their definitions, and the historical and scientific context of understanding them. The above theoretical part is a compendium of knowledge necessary to present the results of our research on how their fathers understand the emotions of three-year-old sons and the need for intentionality to understand them. The research results and their description will be presented in the next publication.
