Therapy Program to Improve the Perception of Speech Prosody

Prosodic disorders lead to the emergence of difficulties in the process of communication because prosodic phenomena perform multiple functions in communication. They occur in people with various types of speech, hearing and voice impairments. The effectiveness of logopedic therapies in cases of dysprosody depends on the appropriate choice of treatment: it must be suited to the patient’s needs and capabilities and it must enable them to acquire competence and skills necessary for understanding prosodic phenomena and successfully using them in communication. The article presents the authors’ own program aimed at improving the perception of prosodic phenomena. The classification and description of individual exercises were based upon the published sources on phonetic and phonological specification of prosodic phenomena and their functions, prosodic disorders and therapeutic management of dysprosody.

Zaburzenia prozodyczne, ze względu na liczne funkcje pełnione przez zjawiska prozodyczne w komunikacji, prowadzą do powstawania utrudnień w jej przebiegu. Występują one u osób z różnego typu zaburzeniami mowy, słuchu i głosu. Warunkiem efektywności logopedycznych oddziaływań terapeutycznych w przypadkach dysprozodii jest odpowiedni, dostosowany do potrzeb i możliwości pacjenta wybór postępowania, umożliwiający mu opanowanie kompetencji i sprawności niezbędnych do rozumienia zjawisk prozodycznych i umiejętnego posługiwania się nimi w komunikacji. W artykule zaprezentowano autorski program służący usprawnianiu percepcji zjawisk prozodycznych. Klasyfikacji i opisu poszczególnych rodzajów ćwiczeń dokonano na podstawie opublikowanych w literaturze danych dotyczących fonetycznej i fonologicznej charakterystyki zjawisk prozodycznych i pełnionych przez nie funkcji, zaburzeń prozodycznych oraz postępowania terapeutycznego w przypadkach dysprozodii.

W artykule dokonano prezentacji autorskiego programu przeznaczonego do usprawniania ekspresji prozodii u osób z dysprozodią, kształtowania prozodii mowy u dzieci, a także doskonalenia sprawności prozodycznych dorosłych mówców. Na program składają się ćwiczenia usprawniające ekspresję poszczególnych cech i zjawisk prozodycznych oraz realizację funkcji prozodii w komunikacji. Przedstawione w nim rozwiązania opierają się na opublikowanych w literaturze ustaleniach dotyczących realizacji zjawisk prozodycznych w patologii mowy i w normie oraz metodyki postępowania logopedycznego w działaniach służących budowaniu sprawności prozodycznych.
