An International Scientific Conference on “Ruins of Sacral Monuments – Protection and Adaptation for New Functions” was held in Gubin on 6-8 November 2008. The purpose of the debates was a presentation of the protection of the ruins of sacral monuments, and their adaptation to new functions in Poland, Germany and other parts of Europe, with a simultaneous assessment of the applied solutions. The prime theme of the discussion was the delineation of the limits of construction intervention in the historical substance of churches.
