The article refers to the exhibition Pietas et litterae in the ‘Old Synagogue’ Gallery in Nowy Sącz, where surviving souvenirs from the Piarist college in Podolínec were presented. Most of the exhibits presented have left their storage places during the exhibition for the first time in centuries. These included parchment diplomas, handwritten chronicles of colleges, books recording the students, monks and novices, books of deceased lecturers, old prints and books published in the nineteenth century, portraits of professors from Podolínec, the founder of the monastery and college in Podolínec, Stanisław Lubomirski, and paintings from the series of “Żywot św. Józefa Kalasantego”, as well as liturgical robes, a seal with the image of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, a paramentary (i.e. a painted wardrobe for liturgical robes and instruments), a map of the Hungarian Piarist Province, a painted view of Podolínec from 1836 and school certificates of a student of the Jan Kaleta College. The exhibits presented at the exhibition have been borrowed from the Central Archive of the Hungarian Piarist Province in Budapest, the Museum in Stará Ľubovňa, the Piarist Archive and Library in Krakow, the National Museum in Krakow, the Józef Szujski Public Library in Nowy Sącz, the Piarist College in Prievidza, the Roman Catholic parishes in Podolínec and Toporec, as well as from the private collections of Ludwik Kaleta of Podolínec.

Artykuł nawiązuje do wystawy Pietas et litterae w Galerii ,,Dawna Synagoga” w Nowym Sączu, na której prezentowano ocalałe pamiątki z kolegium pijarów w Podolińcu. Większość prezentowanych eksponatów po raz pierwszy od wieków opuściło na czas wystawy miejsca swego przechowywania. Wśród nich znalazły się m.in. dyplomy pergaminowe, rękopiśmienne kroniki kolegium, księgi rejestrujące uczniów, zakonników i nowicjuszy, księgi zmarłych wykładowców, stare druki i książki wydane w XIX wieku, portrety profesorów podolinieckich, fundatora klasztoru i kolegium w Podolińcu, Stanisława Lubomirskiego oraz obrazy z cyklu ,,Żywot św. Józefa Kalasantego”, a także szaty liturgiczne, pieczęć z wyobrażeniem Nawiedzenia Maryi Panny, paramentarz – malowana szafa na szaty i przybory liturgiczne, mapa Węgierskiej Prowincji Pijarskiej, malowany widok Podolińca z 1836 r. oraz świadectwa szkolne ucznia kolegium Jana Kalety. Prezentowane na wystawie eksponaty wypożyczone zostały m.in. z Centralnego Archiwum Węgierskiej Prowincji Pijarskiej w Budapeszcie, Muzeum Lubowniańskiego w Starej Lubowni, Archiwum i Biblioteki Pijarów w Krakowie, Muzeum Narodowego w Krakowie, Sądeckiej Biblioteki Publicznej im. Józefa Szujskiego, Kolegium Pijarów w Prewidzy, parafii rzymskokatolickich w Podolińcu i Toporcu, a także ze zbiorów prywatnych Ludwika Kalety z Podolińca.

In the period from 25th March until 14th May 2006 at ,Old Synagogue Gallery, affiliated to the Circuit Museum in Nowy Sącz, ,Historical Writing of Cistercian Fathers of Szczyrzyc was exhibited. The purpose of the exhibition was to display the most valuable and the oldest historical writings kept in custody of the Archive and the Cistercian Library in Szczyrzyc, and to appeal the same to a wider audience. The exhibition inter alia covered: medieval parchments with seals, manuscript books, beautifully decorated antiphonaries, graduals and cantionals and old prints as well as the only incunabula found in Poland. Moreover, the exhibition was complemented with the Cistercian costumes, enlarged reproductions of pages of historic books, and pictures that normally decorate the walls of the monastery in Szczyrzyc.
