Wpływ polityki cesarskiej na funkcjonowanie Kościoła katolickiego w Państwie Habsburgów Austriackich w latach 1526–1918

The study addresses the impact of imperial policy on the functioning of the Catholic Church in the Austrian Habsburg State from 1526 to 1918, taking into account transformations determined by historical events, advances in science, political transformations and territorial changes over the period. The first two points are an explication of the topic of the study, making a presentation of the definition of the state with the establishment of its borders, then undertaking a discussion and presentation of the issues of the monarchy’s constitution as a European power, its adoption of a Catholic religious orientation and its exercise of modern, for its time, governance. The next two sections present the essential elements of the rulers’ policies toward the Catholic Church, taking into account two historical periods. The whole thing closes with a conclusion.It should be noted that this topic has not yet been addressed in the Polish literature as separate issues, or as an attempt at synthesis.

Opracowanie przedstawia problematykę wpływu polityki cesarskiej na funkcjonowanie Kościoła katolickiego w Państwie Habsburgów Austriackich w latach 1526–1918, uwzględniając przemiany uwarunkowane wydarzeniami historycznymi, postępem w zakresie nauk, transformacjami ustrojowymi oraz zmianami terytorialnymi na przestrzeni tego okresu. Pierwsze punkty stanowią eksplikację tematu opracowania, dokonując prezentacji definicji państwa wraz z ustaleniem jego granic, podejmując następnie omówienie oraz przedstawienie problematyki ukonstytuowania się monarchii w charakterze europejskiego mocarstwa, przyjęcia przez nie katolickiej orientacji wyznaniowej orazsprawowania w niej nowoczesnych, jak na swe czasy, rządów. Dwa kolejne punkty przedstawiają istotne elementy, prowadzonej przez władców polityki wobec Kościoła katolickiego, z uwzględnieniem dwóch okresów historycznych. Warte zauważenia jest to, że temat ten niebył dotąd podejmowany w polskiej literaturze przedmiotu jako osobne zagadnienie, ani też jako próba syntezy.
