Artykuł przedstawia wybrane aspekty procesów globalizacyjnych charakteryzujących współczesną gospodarką światową oraz związki łączące te procesy z rozwojem technologii informacyjnych. Na tym tle analizowane są skutki globalizacji i zastosowań technik informacyjnych dla suwerenności państwa. Przedstawiona zostaje skala zachodzących przemian, zależności występujące pomiędzy omawianymi zjawiskami oraz związane z nimi szanse i zagrożenia.

The article describes choosen aspects of the globalization processes which characterize contemporary world economy and relations that connect this processes with evolution of the information technology. The effects of globalization and information technology applications for state sovereignty are analysed on this bassis. The scale of changes that take place and interdependence among discussed phenomena as well as chances and risks are presented.
