The article is focused on several Czech place-names that may be interpreted either from common nouns not attested in Czech, or from extinct toponymic meanings based on metonymy or metaphor. The author offers new interpretations of Czech toponyms Blinka, Kosoř, Kroučová, Krapice, Kuzov, Skapce and Stropnice. Motivation of these names is attested in the Old-Czech or in other Slavic languages.
