The salvage archaeological excavations were realised at Janko Kráľ square in Zlaté Moravce. Traces of prehistoric settlement (the Neolithic) were found together with a modern cemetery and a settlement object. In the Object 1 fragments of glass bottle-shaped vessels, legged bowls and small vessels from the 17th century were revealed. At the cemetery 17 graves have been documented that sketched a modern society picture. The grave 12A with burial of a young woman included a bonnet originally embroidered with small glass beads of blue, white, green and yellow colours. The bonnet probably represents a national costume from the turn of 17th and 18th cent. A bronze welt that had made the bonnet fixed preserved also fragments of fabric and tapes from its skeleton. The high-quality glass and beads shapes are documenting advanced technology of glass products of this type. In spite of its small extent, the salvage excavation in Zlaté Moravce has brought results that enriched recent knowledge of life at the Zlaté Moravce site in the incipient modern era.

The article analyses 5 archaeological sites (Bátorove Kosihy, Hronský Beňadik, Kamenný Most, Rybník and Štúrovo). During the field surveys we utilized aerial photography, geodetic targeting and geophysical measuring. The methodology progress was different on individual sites. Sometimes we only conducted the geodetic targeting, in other cases only the geophysical measuring. The geophysical measuring with applying the fluxgate magnetometer with 5 trenches was conducted on three sites. Individual locations were attempted to be dated according to the written sources and surface collection. Surveys contributed with the new knowledge, which in the future will undergo more detailed analysis and archaeological excavation.

In the first part of the multi-volume series about finds made of ceramic and other materials from archaeological explorations and prospections in Slovakia, the authors have focused on the evaluation of finds of pipes from archaeological activities of the company Archeológia Zemplín from Michalovce, carried out during the years 2009–2010. Based on a detailed survey of the problem´s treatment, they point to the starting points of the study of pipes at present. At the same time, they introduce a formalised way of the description of pipes and evaluation of the set of finds consisting of 30 pipe finds dated from the 17th to the 20th century.
