The article contains information about Jadwiga and Tadeusz Korzon’s personal relations and family. This analysis was conducted on the basis of the spouses’ correspondence, the historian’s autobiography and memoirs. Apart from being a basic form of communication for the spouses, a considerable number of preserved letters constitutes material for the analysis of mutual relations between them, with special emphasis on private, sometimes very personal and intimate confessions, desires and partners’ attitudes to each other. This kind of communication, often saturated with emotions and specific language, became the basis and a primary carrier for general description of the title characters and their relationships, both personal and those relating to the family. Moreover, this text constitutes a sort of an introduction to general issues of epistolography at the turn of the twentieth century.
