The authors present select technical possibilities o f performing the reinforcement, repair and reconstruction o f the building. The characteristic feature o f the prepared complex programme and timetable for reinforcing the palace is a preventive stabilisation o f the solid by means o f balancing the inner stress. For conservation reasons, reinforcement could be carried out only in the inner-ceiling areas of the building, with a considerably complicated carrying system, which created difficulties in placing suitably rigid construction systems. In those areas, use was made o f bracing steel bowstrings. An additional rigidity o f the solid on the level o f the ceiling over the ground floor was obtained with the help o f a prestressed trim, combined with steel bowstrings and a reinforced concrete ring on the level o f the crown of the walls. A number o f reinforcements and local repairs of the construction was conducted inside the building. The reinforcement considerably increased the spatial rigidity of the building, protecting it against the recurrence o f construction damage. In this way, it was feasible to achieve the possibility o f further stable reconstruction as well as the conservation of the historical palace interiors and the elevation o f the building.
