This article shows the teaching and evolution of the practice of the sacraments of Christian Initiation in the Church of Siedlce. Through this article was shown the development of this practice, which in the diocese evolved over many years, so it could reach the current shape of the entire process of Christian Initiation. Under the pastoral care of Bishop Zbigniew Kiernikowski, the attempt was made to create a program of preparation for the catechumenate of adults and unbaptized children of catechetical age. Candidate for initiation walked the path towards initiation by different degrees and stages. The climax point of the preparation process was the celebration of the sacraments of initiation at the Easter Vigil at the Cathedral of Siedlce. The reflection on the sacraments of Christian Initiation exposes a gradual but deeper entering into the paschal mystery of Christ. It was emphasized that it is not enough to receive the sacraments of Christian Initiation, but to enter into the Christian way of life. It is therefore necessary to carry out the formation of adults in the form of pre-baptismal and post-baptismal catechumenate. The development of the practice to administer the sacraments of Christian Initiation indicates that the theology of the sacraments and subsequent recommendations were read correctly in order to bring people to a mature faith in the modern world.

Zainicjowana we chrzcie świętym wiara winna być pogłębiana. Odpowiedzialność za rozwój wiary u swoich dzieci wzięli rodzice i rodzice chrzestni. Oni są pierwszymi przekazi-cielami wiary. Rodzina jako domowy Kościół i wspólnota parafialna to środowiska, w którym wiara dojrzewa. Wiara umacnia się, gdy jest przekazywana. Dzięki szkolnej katechezie i życiu liturgicznemu wiara jest rozwijana. Poprzez duchowe przygotowanie kandydatów do bierzmowania z wykorzystaniem elementów katechumenalnych i pracy w małych grupach okres ten staje się impulsem do świadomego i mężnego wyznawania wiary. Bierzmowanie jest umocnieniem na drodze wiary, ono dynamizuje pogłębienie relacji z Jezusem i Jego Kościołem. Samo przyjęcie bierzmowania nie czyni chrześcijanina w pełni dojrzałym. Zaangażowanie w życie wspólnoty Kościoła i wyznawanie wiary w Jezusa wprowadza na drogę ku wierze dojrzałej. Po tej drodze wiary w Boga prowadzi człowieka Duch Święty, który w bierzmowaniu udziela obficie swoich darów.

Faith - initiated in Baptism should be later increased. The obligation for the deve-lopment of children's faith has been taken by the parents and the godparents. They are the first to transfer faith. A family as a house church and a parish community make the environment for faith to grow. Faith gets stronger while it is transferred. Thanks to religious education and liturgical life faith is developed. Through the spiritual preparation of the candidates for the sacrament of Confirmation, using catechumenal elements and working in small groups, this particular time becomes an impulse for a conscious and brave profession of faith. The Confirmation is an reinforcement of faith, it makes the relations with Jesus Christ and his Church deepened. The reception of the sacrament of Confirmation itself does not make a Christian fully mature. The involvement in the life of the Church community and the confession of faith in Jesus Christ lead to the way of mature faith. On this way of faith a man is led by the Holy Spirit, who gives his gifts generously in the sacrament of Confirmation.
