Wolontariusz w bibliotece, czyli kto? (na przykładzie Miejskiej Biblioteki Publicznej w Opolu)

The aim of the article is to discuss the involvement of people (mainly pupils) in the local community on the example of volunteering in the Municipal Public Library in Opole in 2014-2019. The method of literature analysis was used (including documents related to volunteering and located in the Municipal Public Library in Opole), a case study and participatory observation. The text is a contribution and only after many years of cooperation with the volunteers will it be possible to take stock. However, the material collected shows that, in the case of young people, volunteering was not only due to the willingness to support the library, but also to the need to earn additional points when recruiting to secondary schools. However, volunteers are particularly sought after who offer systematic and extended work. Such activities were proposed by young people gathered in the group “Active in the library”.

Celem artykułu jest omówienie zaangażowania ludzi (głównie uczniów) na rzecz społeczności lokalnej na przykładzie wolontariatu w Miejskiej Bibliotece Publicznej w Opolu w latach 2014-2019. Wykorzystano metodę analizy piśmiennictwa (w tym dokumentów związanych z wolontariatem i znajdujących się w MBP w Opolu), studium przypadku i obserwację uczestniczącą. Tekst ma charakter przyczynku i dopiero po wieloletniej współpracy z wolontariuszami będzie możliwe dokonanie podsumowania. Na podstawie zebranego materiału można jednak stwierdzić, że w przypadku młodych ludzi wolontariat wynikał nie tylko z chęci wsparcia biblioteki, ale także z potrzeby zdobycia dodatkowych punktów przy rekrutacji do szkół średnich. Szczególnie poszukiwani są jednak wolontariusze, którzy oferują pracę systematyczną i rozłożoną na dłuższy okres. Takie działania zaproponowali młodzi ludzie skupieni w grupie „Aktywni w bibliotece”.
