Polish motor transport market is characterized by a high level of supply-side subjective dispersion. In 2011, more than 25,000 motor transport enterprises engaged in the international transport of goods were recorded in the country, of which approximately 90% were the entities whose car park did not exceed ten vehicles. The use of traditional tools of contact with transport companies in order to select a specific carrier (e.g. trade catalogs, phone, or fax) can make it difficult to reach satisfactory offers, increasing the operating costs of business activity. Necessary arrangements enabling the sharing of information on the market are provided by the electronic B2B market (business-to-business). Online tools increase the possibility of reaching a large number of customers and provide better adaptation of the agreements to the current needs. Most frequently these are the directories ofoffers with the possibility of performing various searches (e.g. Keyword Search), auction services, and online platforms enabling the conclusion of the short-or long-term contracts. In recent years, we could also observe a dynamic growth of the online freight exchanges, and tender transport platforms. This paper describes the principles of operation of such tools and the benefits and risks associated with their use. There has also been a review and characterization of a selection of sites.

Największy udział w zaspokajaniu potrzeb transportowych w przewozach ładunków w Polsce i Europie ma transport samochodowy. Udział ten systematycznie rośnie, towarzysząc wzrostowi ogółu przewozów. W 2005 roku udział transportu samochodowego w pracy przewozowej wykonanej przez polskie przedsiębiorstwa w transporcie ładunków ogółem wyniósł 52,5%, natomiast w 2011 roku wartość ta wzrosła do 69,9%. W ostatnich latach zauważyć można dynamiczny rozwój elektronicznych giełd transportowych oraz platform przetargowych oferowanych dla branży transportowej. W artykule opisane zostały zasady ich funkcjonowania, a także korzyści i zagrożenia wynikające z ich użytkowania. Dokonano przeglądu dostępnych serwisów oraz charakterystyki wybranych.

Taking into account the growing complexity of supply chains, the issue of measuring and evaluating their functioning becomes vital. Both literature and business practice apply various models and methods of measuring and evaluating supply chain performance. The proposed approaches evolve towards taking a wider perspective of various dimensions in which enterprises function. The paper describes the most commonly applied methods and models of measuring and evaluating supply chain performance. It primarily focuses on the fundamental assumptions of specific approaches as well as the applied performance measures and their categories. The article also indicates major problems and challenges connected with developing the described models and methods.

Ze względu na rosnącą złożoność łańcuchów dostaw, bardzo ważna staje się kwestia pomiaru oraz oceny ich funkcjonowania. Zarówno w literaturze, jak i w praktyce gospodarczej stosowane są różne modele i metody pomiaru i oceny wydajności łańcuchów dostaw (ang. supply chain performance). Proponowane podejścia ewoluują w kierunku uwzględniania różnych wymiarów funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstw w szerszej perspektywie. W artykule opisane zostały najczęściej stosowane metody oraz modele pomiaru i oceny wydajności łańcucha dostaw. W opisie skoncentrowano się głównie na podstawowych założeniach poszczególnych podejść, a także stosowanych miarach wydajności oraz ich kategoriach. Wskazano także główne problemy i wyzwania związane z doskonaleniem opisywanych modeli i metod.
