Przedmiotem artykułu jest analiza prawnej sytuacji Bractwa Kapłańskiego św. Piusa X założonego przez abpa Marcela Lefebvre’a. Aktywne działania duszpasterskie Bractwa w różnych regionach świata, a szczególnie w polskich diecezjach, skłaniają do właściwego rozeznania ku pożytkowi wiernych świeckich, czym ta wspólnota jest i czy ma całkowitą jedność z Biskupem Rzymu. Chronologicznie opisane wydarzenia pomagają ukazać całość problematyki związanej z Bractwem i jego obecnym statusem prawnym w Kościele.

The subject of the article is an analysis of the legal situation of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. The active pastoral activities of the Fraternity in various regions of the world, and especially in Polish dioceses, encourage proper discernment for the benefit of the lay faithful, what this community is and whether it has complete unity with the Bishop of Rome. The chronologically described events help to show the entirety of the issues related to the Fraternity and their current legal status in the Church.
