PSYCHOLINGUISTIC PROBLEMS OF TRANSLATION AND INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION Summary The present article is dedicated to the problem of translation and intercultural commu-nication within the range of psycholinguistic.  The author researches various aspects of attributes typical for the given language and culture. Special attention is given to the system of linguistic similarities and differences between various languages that refl ect upon pa-rallels and diversities in the conceptual system of their users.  The comparison of Russian and Kazakh linguistic systems exemplifi es the differences in the national mentality.  PSYCHOLINGWISTYCZNE ASPEKTY PRZEKŁADU I KOMUNIKACJI MIĘDZYKULTUROWEJ Streszczenie Artykuł jest poświęcony problemowi tłumaczenia i komunikacji międzykulturowej w zakresie psycholingwistyki. W różnych językach można zaobserwować zbiór atrybutów, który charakteryzuje daną kulturę, pewne stereotypy, właściwe rodzimym użytkownikom języka, podobieństwa i różnice na poziomie leksykalno-semantycznym między użytkownikami dwóch różnych języków, za którymi kryją się różnice i podobieństwa w pojęciowym systemie myślenia użytkowników języka. Do elementów narodowej specyfi ki wspólnoty językowej, które utrudniają zrozumienie niektórych fragmentów tekstów obcojęzycznym odbiorcom, zaliczamy luki leksykalne (lexical gap/lacuna). W artykule omówiono przykłady luk frazeologicznych odzwierciedlających specyfi kę mentalności narodowej w językach kazachskim i rosyjskim.
