Everyone goes through certain stages of their life which end in retirement. This is the time when, according to the regulations, the professional career ends, and current expenses are covered from the funds collected in the form of pensions and profits from the accumulated personal or family property. The aim of the papier is to recognize the views of the representatives of generations X and Y about securing for retirement in the context of saving awareness. The achievement of the goal was a query of the literature on the subject and the results of a survey conducted in 2020 among 351 inhabitants of the Małopolskie Voivodeship. The research positively verified 6 out of 7 research hypotheses.

Każdy człowiek przechodzi przez pewne etapy swojego życia, które kończy okres emerytalny. To czas, kiedy zgodnie z przepisami następuje koniec drogi zawodowej, a bieżące wydatki pokrywane są ze środków zebranych w postaci emerytury i profitów ze zgromadzonego majątku osobistego lub rodzinnego. Celem artykułu jest rozpoznanie opinii przedstawicieli pokolenia X i Y na temat zabezpieczenia się na emeryturę w kontekście świadomości oszczędzania. Realizacji celu posłużyła kwerenda literatury przedmiotu oraz wyniki badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych w 2020 roku wśród 351 mieszkańców województwa małopolskiego. Badania pozytywnie zweryfikowały 6 spośród 7 hipotez badawczych.
