The article deals with iconicity in grammatical system of Polish Sign Language. The iconicity is de-fined as a feature of a reference of a sign and the author observes that in sign languages it appears not only on lexical level but on phonological, morphonological and syntactic levels as well. Iconicity is also treated as an important factor in the process of denotation in Polish Sign Language. It is the first study concerning these problems so it just sketches the area of the research which needs more detailed exploration.
