The study documents the everyday life of the Jewish community at the end of the 15th century and the first half of the 16th century on the example of Jewish families from Pardubice. The analysis is based mainly on civil books, both in Pardubice and in Prague. The example of the Jews on the Perštejn estates confirms the known fact that after the expulsion of the Jewish population from the royal towns in the 16th century, they settled on the estates of important noble families. The wealthy nobles supported the settlement of Jews on their estates because they brought them royalties to the treasury and sufficient cash for loans and other monetary transactions. An interesting segment of the life of the Jewish community in the late Middle Ages are the internal customs, private relationships, housing disputes, which tell a lot about the living conditions, and of course the reports about women, who played an important role among the Jews as businesswomen and mothers.
