Pro-environmental behavior is an emerging topic in psychological research, with growing interest in exploring it. The current state of knowledge includes theory-based models that focus on the environmental determinants of pro-environmental behavior and emotional maturity, the link between emotional context and pro-environmental behavior, and environmental awareness concerning proenvironmental behavior. This review study focuses on the factors that influence pro-environmental behavior and proposes a model that incorporates the effects of sociodemographic and family factors, emotional maturity, and environmental awareness. The expected contribution of this study is to describe pro-environmental behavior and the key factors that influence it, thereby enhancing our understanding of the psychological drivers behind pro-environmental behavior factors that are increasingly important in the climate-challenged era.
