The author analyzes the process of institutionalizing the interests of Sorbian in Germany in the twentieth and twenty-first century. Auditing of historical determinants of this process is used as a basis for reflection on today's political condition of the Sorbs and the possibility of maintaining national identity in contemporary conditions.
