Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest nauczaniu świętego Jana Pawła II, szczególnie papieskiej wykładni Eucharystii. Zasadniczo naszą refleksję teologiczną oparliśmy na encyklice Ecclesia de Eucharistia. W nauczaniu Ojca Świętego ujęte zostały następujące aspekty związane z Eucharystią: dar, chwała, ofiara, uczta, jedność, misje oraz człowiek. Przyjęte kryteria analizy nauczania papieskiego nie wyczerpują podjętej tematyki, ale zachęcają czytelnika do lektury tekstów świętego Jana Pawła II. Do refleksji skłonić może zasadnicze pytanie: czy Eucharystia stanowi centrum życia wierzących? Patrząc na życie papieża, dostrzegamy, że w jego życiu wszystko zaczynało się od adoracji Najświętszego Sakramentu, sama zaś Eucharystia była najważniejszym wydarzeniem każdego dnia. Msza święta była dla Jana Pawła II codziennym cudem; ten fakt może skłaniać czytelnika do refleksji, a osobę wierząca – do zadumy.

The article is dedicated to Saint John Paul II’s teaching, particularly concerning the subject of Eucharist. We have based our theological reflection on the encyclical Ecclesia de Eucharistia. In the Holy Father’s teaching the following aspects have been considered: gift, glory, sacrifice, feast, unity, mission and human. The adopted criteria for the analysis of papal teaching do not exhaust the subject matter, but encourage the reader to read the texts of Saint John Paul II. The fundamental question may provoke a reflection: whether the Eucharist is the center of the believers life. Looking at the Pope’s life, we can see that everything in his life began with the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and the Eucharist itself was the most important event of each day. Holy Mass was a daily miracle for John Paul II; this fact may make the reader reflect, and the believer – reverie.
