The article discusses possible advantages of the telemedicine solutions in care and rehabilitation services. Based on statistical data and literature review we shown that telecare and telerehabilitation can improve wellbeing of people, especially in ageing societies, and partially ease the problem of scarce medical and care workers. Additionally, we discuss technological, legal and other barriers to broader implementation of telemedicine. Finally, several case studies of successful implementation of remotely provided care and rehabilitation implemented or tested in Poland have been described.

W artykule omówiono możliwe zalety rozwiązań telemedycznych w opiece i rehabilitacji. Na podstawie danych statystycznych i przeglądu literatury wykazano, że teleopieka i telerehabilitacja mogą poprawić samopoczucie ludzi, szczególnie w starzejących się społeczeństwach, i częściowo złagodzić problem niedoboru pracowników medycznych i opiekuńczych. Dodatkowo omówiono bariery technologiczne, prawne i inne utrudniające szersze wdrożenie telemedycyny. Na koniec opisano kilka przykładów udanego wdrożenia zdalnie zapewnionego leczenia i rehabilitacji wdrożonych lub przetestowanych w Polsce.
