Kontrakty długoterminowe (niezakończone na dzień bilansowy umowy o świadczenie usług) to specyficzna grupa kontraktów, która podlega odrębnym metodom wyceny. Wyboru metody wyceny spośród dwóch: według stopnia zaawansowania lub wyniku zerowego dokonuje podmiot wyceniający. Ze względu na specyfikę branży IT wybrane metody mogą być różne w zależności od charakteru świadczonych usług, a co za tym idzie, wycena może w różnym stopniu wpływać na prezentowany wynik jednostki.

Long-term contracts are the type of service contracts that are governed by specific regulations. There are two available methods of valuation that can be chosen by the entity: percentage of completion method and zero result method. Long-term contracts valuation issue relates also IT sector. Due to the fact that IT project are increasingly longer and complicated, IT companies are oblige to valuate such contracts in order to follow accruals and matching concept. Analysis of consolidated financial statements of companies ranked in Truffle Capital 100 shows that long term contracts valuation is a common issue among IT companies. Almost all verified financial statements includes results of the valuation.
