Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie istoty procesu innowacyjnego od strony teoretycznej i strony praktycznej. W części teoretycznej przedstawiono przegląd koncepcji związanych z procesami innowacyjnymi oraz charakterystykę współ-czesnego środowiska procesów innowacyjnych. W części praktycznej zaprezentowano studium przypadku komercjalizacji robota mobilnego HexorŽ przez pracowników naukowych Politechniki Śląskiej.

The main goal of the paper is presentation of innovative process from the theoretical and practical point of view. In the theoretical analysis the review of contemporary concepts and approaches to innovation has been presented as well as the description of contemporary environment of innovative processes. In the practical part of the paper the case study of innovative process of commercialization of mobile, autonomus robot HexorŽ developed by the scientist of Silesian University of Technology is presented.
