The author is accepting, that exhausting description of the identity of the chosen scientifi c discipline (e.g. of general didactics) demands joint discussion of object of definite domain and manners of research, that is ontological-methodological bases of the given science. The main subject of deliberations is an issue ontological identities of general didactics illustrated with chain one by one after oneself of the following didactics concepts starting from „kairow’s didactics” to of „technology of educating”, in it of „teaching supported by a computer”. The author shows benefits which brought to didactics as the science a paradigm of problem learning and discovering the pupil as the subject of the process of teaching.

Autor przyjmuje, że wyczerpujący opis tożsamości wybranej dyscypliny (np. dydaktyki ogólnej) wymaga łącznego omówienia przedmiotu określonej dziedziny i sposobów jego badania, a zatem ontologiczno-metodologicznych podstaw danej nauki. Głównym przedmiotem rozważań jest kwestia ontycznej tożsamości dydaktyki ogólnej, ilustrowana łańcuchem kolejno po sobie następujących koncepcji dydaktycznych, począwszy od dydaktyki kairowowskiej do technologii kształcenia, w tym nauczania wspomaganego komputerowo. Autor ukazuje pożytki, jakie przyniósł dydaktyce jako nauce paradygmat nauczania problemowego i odkrycie ucznia jako podmiotu procesu nauczania.
