W artykule podjęto próbę przybliżenia czytelnikowi sylwetki Hansa Niekrawietza, niemieckiego pisarza pochodzącego z Górnego Śląska, publikującego w okresie III Rzeszy. Przedstawiając szerszą problematykę literatury polsko-niemieckiego pogranicza, autorka zastanawia się nad potrzebą i zasadnością tłumaczenia tekstów literackich uwikłanych, choćby potencjalnie, w trudne konteksty polityczne.
