The complex of onymic attributes is displayed in the designation of generic singularities on the both sides of the onymic sign. The realisation of the onymic signs in the linguistic aspect of the proper name is important for the conception of the onymic sign. It has been proved that the proper name represents a bilateral sign sui generis and is integrated as a real linguistic element into the appropriate name class. Proper names form an open complex of lexical elements of the given language, but in the same time they belong also to certain onymic subsystems with their own regularity. Due to the numerous onymic attributes, the linguistic structure of personal names is distinguished from common nouns more distinctively than other proper name classes. For the methodology of onomastics it is crucial that this approach reveals the double status of the proper name – linguistic and onomastic.
