It contains basic information about a research – designing team implementing the systems described in this volume, and describes Lodz Housing Construction Company "West", for which the systems have been designed. The biggest part of the article in accordance with its title has been devoted to a detailed presentation of methods of analyzing needs of the Company in the field of computerization. This analyzing needs was a starting point for the further research-designing work.

In the age of Electronic Commerce each solution that could enhance the competitiveness is worth considering. Telework seems to be a perfect way to use a great potential of many workers being able to work effectively with the use of computer and internet tools. In the case of telework it doesn’t matter whether the worker is a disabled person - his skills are all that matters. In this paper the possibility of employing the disabled as teleworkers is presented. The economic and social meaning of integrating disabled on the labor market has been pointed out.

Identyfikacja szans i zagrożeń pozwala na lepsze ukierunkowanie decyzji dotyczących w szczególności wprowadzenia do firmy nowych rozwiązań, do których zalicza się telepraca. W niniejszym artykule podjęto próbę ustalenia najważniejszych czynników, jakie musi rozważyć firma zamierzająca wdrożyć telepracę w celu usprawnienia swojej działalności. Jest to niejako analiza SWOT ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem warunków na zewnątrz firmy. Skrót SWOT pochodzi od pierwszych liter angielskich wyrazów: Strengths (sity, atuty), Weaknesses (słabości). Opportunities (szanse, okazje). Threats (zagrożenia). Przedstawiono także wyniki badań dotyczących dotychczasowego zastosowania telepracy.

Identification of opportunities and threats allows making better decisions, especially when decisions concern implementation in a company new ideas like for example telework. In the paper were identified the main factors, which should bed is cussed in a company planing implementation of telework for improvement o fits activity. It can be treated as some kind of SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Oppotunities, Threats) analysis. Results of survey concerning present applications of telework were also presented.

In this paper there are presented some modern computer devices and technologies enabling disabled children to omit many barriers met on the way to next education levels. The situation of disabled children in Poland, especially in polish schools has been described. The idea of e-learning, making it possible to get education without everyday commuting to school, has been shown. The role of direct contact of the pupil with teachers and peers has been emphasized. Dangers coming from internet and placing too much trust in it are described.
