The article is concentrated on the toponymy of the North-East Bulgaria, represented in the book „Description of the Antiquities Along the Rusenski Lom River“ (material for the archaeological map of Bulgaria) by Karel Škorpil, prominent Czech scholar who lived in Bulgaria from 1882 until his death in 1944 and who contributed a lot to the Bulgarian country and Bulgarian people by his researches on Bulgarian history, archaeology, geography, geology and biology and who investigated the ancient Bulgarian capitals and discovered the most ancient capital of the Bulgarian country – Pliska.
