This paper describes the modern approach to the terms 'security' and 'threat'. One of the phenomena related to threats is terrorism, which is a constantly evolving and serious international problem. The author presents modes and methods of combating terrorism, along with the relevant documents in force in the Republic of Poland and selected institutions.
