The article is devoted to the history and specifics of the linearly-notated Irmologion from Zhirovichy of the first half of the 17th century as an outstanding historical monument of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth’s church singing art. The unique manuscript from Zhirovichy is examined from the standpoints of its history, specificity of the liturgical texts, singing repertoires and notation. The author of the article pays special attention to rare tunes presented in the Irmologion, namely “Kremenets”, “Serbian”, “Greek” and others. During the process of comparison of the said manuscript with other Irmologions from the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Commonwealth, the author concludes the aspect of a special significance of the Irmologion from Zhirovichy as a kind of a majestic keeper of the Orthodox church singing traditions in these lands.
