After years of strict division of Cieszyn/Těšín Silesia, there has been a slow recovery of the regional unity even if on different cultural and sociological foundations than in the prewar period. The integration process is certainly not without tension and historical “hiccups”, which reflects the old wrongs. Contemporary works by authors associated with Těšín Silesia play a vital role in this process ‒ a factor that creates a space for mutual knowledge and understanding. Beautiful example for a various culture of border region is a poetry of Bogdan Trojak, because he is a Poles, but he writes usually in Czech and sometimes between poetry dialogue he writes in Lachian dialect. In the context of the national literature (Polish and Czech) he created a “Silesian genius loci” (together with another poetess R. Putzlacher). In this article author analyze motives of Śląsk Cieszyński in verse of Bogdan Trojak and try point at bearings native country.
