Environmental education is an extremely important element of public education. It can be conducted as formal education and as informal education by various types of nongovernmental organizations. The Włocławek Center for Ecological Education and the League of Nature Conservation District in Włocławek are examples of organizations that conduct such education based on active methods, involving local communities in activities for the environment. Thanks to this, „new ecological education” leads to changes in awareness and thus in everyday habits in relation to the environment.

Edukacja ekologiczna jest niezmiernie ważnym elementem edukacji społeczeństwa. Może być prowadzona jako edukacja formalna oraz jako edukacja nieformalna przez różnego rodzaju organizacje pozarządowe. Włocławskie Centrum Edukacji Ekologicznej oraz Liga Ochrony Przyrody Okręg we Włocławku są przykładem organizacji, które prowadzą taką edukację opartą o aktywne metody, angażując w działania na rzecz środowiska społeczności lokalne. Dzięki temu „nowa edukacja ekologiczna” prowadzi zmiany świadomości a przez to codziennych nawyków w stosunku do środowiska.
