Judging the 2-year old Law and Justice (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość, PiS) govern one should notice that historic policy became a vital element of an internal and external polish policy apart from economic and social policy. According to Law and Justice politicians the aim of historic policy in the national aspect was to resuscitate patriotism and national pride as well as create national community. The conduct of historic policy in the international aspect was based on activities aiming at restoring polish history consciousness and its significance in Europe as well as propagation of independence merits of Poland in the war with Nazi and communist totalitarianism. Active historic policy was very important for politicians of Law and Justice, especially in the context of Polish-German and Polish-Russian relations and was based on opposing the attempts to relativize the responsibility for II world war crimes. It should be emphasized that understood historic policy was widely approved by Polish people.
