Abstract: In the paper was presented a catalogue of early Medieval archaeological Slavic sites, based on which was determined the range of occurrence of sunken houses in Central Europe in 9th–10th century. On this basis, were analysed published sunken-featured buildings from the north-west Slavic area showing that mostly we deal with the remains of above-ground dwelling structures or unspecified features which cannot be interpreted as houses.

Abstrakt: W pracy przedstawiony został katalog wczesnosłowiańskich stanowisk archeologicznych, na podstawie którego określono zasięg występowania ziemianek w Europie środkowej w IX/X wieku. Analizie poddano opublikowane dotąd ziemianki z obszaru północno-zachodniej Słowiańszczyzny. Wykazano, że w większości mamy do czynienia z resztkami domostw naziemnych bądź obiektów nieokreślonych, których nie można interpretować jako domostwa.
