Niniejszy artykuł zredagowany z okazji 500-lecia Reformacji koncentruje się wokół kolejnych setnych rocznic tego wydarzenia i ich obchodów w danym kontekście historycznym i w odniesieniu do postrzegania osoby Marcina Lutra. W ciągu 500 lat od pamiętnego wystąpienia Ojca Reformacji, które zapoczątkowało ruch „reformy protestanckiej”, co najmniej każde kolejne sto lat obchodzone było jako szczególne upamiętnienie tego faktu, który zmienił bieg historii Europy i świata oraz wstrząsnął chrześcijaństwem. Poszczególne, okrągłe rocznice Reformacji należy więc rozpatrywać w odniesieniu do ówczesnej sytuacji społeczno-politycznej w Europie, a zwłaszcza w Niemczech. Nie mniej ważne jest zwrócenie uwagi na postać założyciela Kościoła reformowanego, na którym skupiała się zawsze, również dziś, idea świętowania rocznicy Reformacji. W powyższym artykule przedstawia się główne wątki z życia Marcina Lutra w kontekście jego reformy chrześcijaństwa oraz zasadnicze idee przewodnie jego myśli. Następnie analizuje się rozwój Reformacji, rozumiany jako pogłębienie doktryny i ustabilizowanie się praktyki, w latach po śmierci założyciela ruchu reformatorskiego. Na tym tle przedstawia się kolejne rocznice reformy protestanckiej w odniesieniu do sytuacji religijnej i politycznej w Europie i na świecie ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem ostatniej rocznicy 500-lecia Reformacji i jej postrzegania zarówno w Kościołach protestanckich, jak i w Kościele katolickim w kontekście rozwoju ruchu ekumenicznego.

This article, written on the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, focuses on the subsequent 100th anniversary of this event and the celebrations in a given historical context and in relation to the perception of the person of Martin Luther. Within 500 years of the memorable speech of the Reformation Father, which initiated the "Protestant reform" movement, at least every consecutive hundred years was celebrated as a special commemoration of this fact, which changed the course of European and World history and moved deeply into Christianity. The individual anniversary of the Reformation should therefore be considered in relation to social and political situation in Europe of that time, especially in Germany. It is no less important to draw attention to the figure of the founder of the Reformed Church, which has always focused, even today, on the celebration of the anniversary of the Reformation. The article presents the main themes of Martin Luther's life in the context of his reform of Christianity and the basic ideas guiding his thoughts. Then, the development of the Reformation is analyzed, understood as the deepening of doctrine and the stabilization of practice, in the years after the death of the founder of the reform movement. Against this background, successive anniversaries of the Protestant reform are presented with regard to the religious and political situation in Europe and in the world, with particular emphasis on the last anniversary i.e. 500th anniversary of the Reformation and its perception in Protestant Churches as well as in the Catholic Church in the context of the development of the ecumenical movement.

Der vorliegende Artikel wurde anlässlich des 500 jährigen Jubiläums der Reformation verfasst und kreist um ihre konsekutiven hundertjährigen Jahrestage sowie um ihre Begehen im jeweiligen historischen Kontext in Bezug auf die Wahrnehmung der Person Martin Luthers herum. In den 500 Jahren seit dem denkwürdigen Auftreten des Vaters der Reformation, welches die Bewegung der „protestantischen Reform“ angefangen hat, wenigstens jedes hundertjähriges Jubiläum wurde als ein besonderes Andenken dieses Ereignisses begangen, das den Lauf der Geschichte Europas und der Welt veränderte und das Christentum erschütterte. Konsekutive, runde Jahrestage der Reformation muss man im Kontext der damaligen gesellschafts-politischen Situation in Europa und vor allem in Deutschland betrachten. Nicht weniger wichtig ist auch die Beachtung der Gestalt des Gründers der reformatorischen Kirche selbst, auf dem immer, auch heute, die Idee des Feierns von Jahrestagen der Reformation konzentriert war. Im vorliegenden Artikel werden die wichtigsten Fakten aus dem Leben Martin Luthers im Kontext seiner Reform des Christentums sowie der Leitideen seines Gedankenguts dargestellt. Danach wird die Entwicklung der Reformation analysiert, verstanden als eine Vertiefung der Doktrin und eine Stabilisierung der Praxis in den Jahren nach dem Tod des Gründers der protestantischen Bewegung. Auf diesem Hintergrund werden die konsekutiven Jahrestage der protestantischen Reform in Verbindung mit der religiösen und politischen Situation in Europa und in der Welt dargestellt. Eine besondere Aufmerksamkeit wird auf das 500jährige Jubiläum und seine Wahrnehmung sowohl in den protestantischen Kirchen, als auch in der katholischen Kirche im Kontext der ökumenischen Bewegung gelegt.
