This article presents the museum in the contemporary world in a metamuseological way, id est in a way that includes the historical and philosophical discourse of the existence of a cultural institution. Museum templum, museum forum, slow museum, attentive museum and other concepts are intended to show how cultural institutions are shaped to fit into the concept of the asylum museum. The museum's various metamorphoses have brought it from a “boring” to an attractive model to resemble a postmodern asylum, where the sphere of communication should be developed in order for the audience to experience culture in an inclusive way.

W artykule przedstawione jest muzeum we współczesnym świecie w sposób metamuzeologiczny, to znaczy taki, który obejmuje dyskurs historyczny i filozoficzny istnienia instytucji kultury. Museum templum, museum forum, slow muzeum, muzeum uważne i inne koncepcje mają pokazać sposób kreowania instytucji kultury, które to wpisują się w koncepcję muzeum azylu. Liczne metamorfozy muzeum sprawiły, że od modelu „nudnego” do atrakcyjnego ta określona jednostka kultury przeszła liczne przekształcenia. Muzea upodobniły się do postmodernistycznego azylu, gdzie sfera komunikacji powinna być rozwinięta w taki sposób, by odbiorca mógł doświadczać kulturę w sposób inkluzywny.
