Szwecja jest jednym z nielicznych państw, które kieruje się zasadą neutralności w swojej polityce. Zapewnienie bezpieczeństwa kraju jest jednym z priorytetów kolejnych rządów w Sztokholmie. Współczesny świat opiera się na sojuszach, a państwa nie są w stanie skutecznie same zapewnić sobie bezpieczeństwa. Celem szwedzkiej polityki bezpieczeństwa jest osiągnięcie idealnego balansu między bezpieczeństwem a neutralnością i realizuje te zamierzenia zgodnie z doktryną Hultqvista.

Sweden is one of the few countries that is guided by the principle of neutrality in its policy. Ensuring national security is one of the priorities of successive governments in Stockholm. The modern world is based on alliances, and states are unable to protect their security effectively. The Swedish security policy aims to achieve a perfect balance between security and neutrality and implements these intentions under the Hultqvist Doctrine.
