The article stresses the urgency and importance of cultural-historical memory as an ontological phenomenon within the conditions of today’s global risks. Based on the ideas of V. Stepin and the semiotic concept of J. Lotman, the cultural-historical memory is defined as a form of preserving, transmitting and updating programme activities of the society and its results. Education in the field of Humanities is studied as an ontological basis of cultural-historical memory and its most important source of development. Particular attention is paid to philosophical education as an important basis for education and socialisation of the individual. It is proved that the classical university is unable to maintain its position in the society without philosophy as an academic discipline.
In their contribution, the authors examine the issue of the origin of Slavonic literature, the Old Slavonic language, connected with the important activity of the great Slavic missionaries, Sts. Cyril and Methodius. The formation of the first state of East Slavs coincides with the adoption of Christianity and the confirmation of the word as the divine Logos. In Christian interpretation, the word gains an ontological status of God›s wisdom. The authors examine the development of the word (in terms of the language) by analysing the activities of St. Cyril as the founder of the Kiev letters. Their attention is focused on the analysis of the work of Gregory Skovoroda, Taras Hryhorovich Shevchenko, Lesya Ukrainka and others. Works of these writers show that the word has an archetypal character in Ukrainian culture and its symbolic structure penetrates all stages of its development. The word takes the form of an «apostolic mission», reveals and exposes the soul of the Ukrainian nation. It has Christian origin, and its cultural and historical manifestations strengthen national identity and the nation state.
The authors of the present study analyse various forms of virtualisation of the everyday as they appear in different theories and forms in contemporary media studies (see: Deuze, 2016; Floridi, 2019; Manovich, 2018; Lindgren et al., 2014; Gálik, 2011; Radošinská, 2021; Čábyová et al., 2024), including the transformation of physical space to cyberspace (exemplified by the virtualisation of home), social desertion via the digitisation of the self, transhumanism and the Quantified Self movement. The study is aimed at highlighting the current shift towards online culture and reflecting on some of the socio-cultural changes that are gradually establishing themselves under the influence of digitalisation and virtual forms of experience. At the same time, the authors reflect on some socio-cultural shifts from post-humanism to transhumanism. These shifts are gradually and inevitably establishing themselves under the baton of digitalisation and virtual forms of experiencing the everyday. The ambition of the text is to analyse the presence, manifestations and rise of phenomena related to the virtualisation of the everyday and socio-cultural reality as part of broader processes of digitisation (life-hacking and Quantified Self movement, transhumanism, artificial intelligence).
