The article focuses on the surnames Nezbeda and Oliva, used by Libuše Olivová in her publications. The author provides their analyses from the point of view of their possible appellative origin and thinks of the locality that the potencial ancestors of her father Nezbeda and her husband Oliva could come from; also their possible occupation is considered. The frequency of these surnames in the years 1990, 1999 and 2008 is also recorded in the paper.

In the Czech Republic, the re-evaluation of unofficial forms of names (hypocoristics) into independent, basic, standard forms is realised on the basis of sociolinguistic surveys (carried out in 1970’s, 1990’s and in 2012). The surveys are stimulated by the impulses from the public claiming that some hypocoristics (e.g. Ondráš, Jarek, Amálka) lost their emotional, unofficial symptoms and are regarded as neutral forms. If these forms are linguistically re- -evaluated into independent, basic ones on the basis of the results of the survey, they are found suitable for the official registration of Czech citizens according to the Czech registry law.

Nová pražská deantroponymická urbanonyma

The paper analyzes the motivation and functions of the deanthroponymic urbanonyms that came into existence between the years 1998 and 2011. As a basic besides the identification function, the commemorative function is delimited in these names. The motivating personality either (1) had a certain relationship to the named place, or (2) was without a personal relationship. The intensity of the commemorative function becomes gradually weakened and replaced by the orientation function. The systemic function creating local systems of names is employed when the personalities motivating the urbanonym belonged to the same professional sphere of social activity. Anthroponymic urbanonym can also have a connotative function, commemorating for example historical events or technical, cultural and other inventions.
