The aim of the article is to present linguistic jokes typical of the USSR, highlighting the problem of food shortages. Selected folklore miniatures included in the largest scientific catalogue of Soviet jokes were subjected to a cross-sectional analysis Sovetskij anekdot. Ukazatel’ sûžetov (Moscow 2014). It was established that in the folklore process aimed at ridiculing the inept Soviet economy, the language-game was an effective means of producing a comic effect.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie typowych dla ZSRR dowcipów językowych, naświetlających problem niedoboru żywności. Przekrojowej analizie zostały poddane wybrane miniatury folklorystyczne zawarte w największym naukowym katalogu sowieckich żartów Советский анекдот. Указатель сюжетов (Москва 2014). Ustalono, że w procesie folklorotwórczym, skierowanym na ośmieszanie nieudolnej sowieckiej gospodarki, gra językowa była skutecznym sposobem wytwarzania komicznego efektu.
