The romantic noble tale is a specific literary genre, revealing the specifics of Polish Sarmatian culture, in which religiosity and a sense of community are controversial. Priesthood as a factor integrating the Sarmatian community and the priest as a figure belonging to it, and also acting as a mentor and guide is the topic discussed in this research paper. The perception of the priest and his role in the community turns out to be complicated. Its discussion completes the picture of the Sarmatian nobility and its culture.

Romantyczna gawęda szlachecka jest szczególnym gatunkiem literackim, odsłaniającym specyfikę polskiej kultury sarmackiej, w której religijność i poczucie wspólnoty budzą kontrowersje. Kapłaństwo jako czynnik integrujący społeczność sarmacką i kapłan jako postać należąca do tej społeczności, a zarazem pełniąca w niej funkcje mentora i przewodnika, to temat omawiany w artykule. Kwestia postrzegania kapłana i jego roli w środowisku okazuje się skomplikowana, jej omówienie uzupełnia obraz sarmackiej szlachty i jej kultury.

For Julius Slovacki, Krzemieniec [a town in Ucraine] is primarily his hometown. In his letters to his mother, the poet often mentions this city and does it not from the point of view of a historic or educator. With his letters lurks a very different picture of Krzemieniec, subjective image, created with reminiscences of individual motives, places and people. It is in fact one of the many romantic scenes of the country of his childhood, with elements of custom, nostalgia for home and everything home grown.
