The aim of ths article is to analyze the concept of M. Friedman - the main leader of the Chicago School, the founder of the theory of monetarism. Friedman considers political and economic freedom, based on symmetry, mutual conditions. His neo-liberal account of the role of the state in the economy allows a moderate, but limited intervention to ensure the implementation of the principles of democracy, the introduction of social security and elimination of social inequalities. He recognizes the free market and competition as the engine powers of a free society.
