The problem of pedagogical thinking in the context of modern scientific approaches, such as system, professional and activity, personality oriented, task oriented, is discussed. On this basis the peculiarities and functions of teacher’s pedagogical and professional thinking are analyzed, which must be taken into account with the purpose of successful solution of the problematic pedagogical situations. The professional characteristics of the pedagogical thinking as well as its integration in the pedagogical activity at all stages of its realization are differentiated.
